Hey, I’m almost done my fourth semester, and now I’m still doing my last exam (UAS) and as you know, this semester seems to be the hardest semester ever, every lesson have the individual task, I took 24 sks (sistem kredit semester) which mean I had to do seven journals a week,, and that stuff killed me softly, going crazy, something like that lah, hhe. Okay, finally I’ve through that bad romance semester :p, then I would make some review about every lesson that I took in this semester cekidot..
1. Globalization and Strategy (Globalisasi & Strategi)
Maybe, among the other, I love this lesson much, because besides the teacher was mr Joko with his unique teaching style, it has so many “story” about the reality of the world condition and how globalization has it effect to almost all of every aspect. It’s effect On Growth and equality , On Culture and identity, Global Finance, Environment, future of state, Labor, Migration, global economic, corporate and democracy. Sooo manyyy, Every week we has given by some articles by globalization scholar, like LeGrain (he still young you know, I’ve followed his twitter, hha), Bhagwati, David held, Martin Wolf and the other scholar, hhha . Then,I realized that the world seems had a very complicated relation, and as far I studied this lesson I have my own conclusion that “economic thing” really matter. I Think, every case, direct or indirectly related by economic. Even Huntington thesis said it was the clash of civilization (culture), actually it just the outside look, but inside, economic played more rule than culture :D
2. International Regimes (Rezim Internasional)
For me, this lesson was the most complicated among other, on the beginning lecture I cant stand anything, when the other friend debating about some case in the class, I just confused with my self, “hey, what do you guys are talking about?” Krasner, Oran Young, Susan Bla bla, but, finally I understand about what this lesson try to explain about, step by step. Alhamdulillah. Well, I can say that this lesson tend to explain how the regime is formed and how to sustain or fall, about the power of hegemonic actor and anything that related with it, the discussion are close to international organization like WTO, IMF , Monetary system , etc. :D
3. South East Asia Study (Studi Asia Tenggara)
Actually, I love a study with geographical and cultural matter on it, but I was wrong, because this study not just those (geo n culture) matter (hha, ya iya lah). This study was explained about the member of ASEAN countries background, about politic, economic, social and culture, of course about the United State Rule in this region, and mostly about the ASEAN as organization it self. From this study I can understand about the different between ASEAN an EU (European Union), how those organization works, the EU can run effectively because EU become the supra structure above the country member and ASEAN have a little problem and seems didn’t solve the problem because it just an intergovernmental organization. But on my side let it be, that‘s it. Let ASEAN with their ASEAN way :D (abaikan, komentar macam apa itu -____-)
4. East Asia Study (Studi Asia Timur)
Japan, Korea, China, Taiwan are the countries that I’ve study about in this lesson. I enjoyed this lesson so far. Same with South East Asia Study, this study was explained about east Asia countries background. I can understand about Chinese’s values like Confucianism, Taoism, Buddhism, China’s Communism and the history from every country, and from this lesson too I know the special status of Taiwan, Macau and Hongkong, and Tibet too, about Dalai Lama etc. At the last meeting, same with East Asia Study, mrs Lilik told us about how the United States Rules on East ASIA , ya begitulah, Amerika ada dimana mana, hhe
5. Study of Strategy and Strategic Management *bener ga ya, nh terjemahan, hha*
(Studi strategi dan Tata Kelola Strategis)
STKS, I don’t have any special memory with this lesson, hhe . this lesson was discussed about war, general, battle, anything related with strategy, not just about war, it discussed about management and business strategy too, actually, the main point about this lesson is How To Be Strategic Person that Understand how to doing right thing and how to make it better, that’s all, thank you :D
6. Cosmopolitanism, Fundamentalism and Nationalism (Kosmopolitanisme, Fundamentalisme dan Nasionalisme)
I LOOVE THIS LESSON, I don’t know, I just feel happy when I’m attending in this class, hhe this study was told us about what is cosmopolitanism idea and it relations with fundamentalism and nationalism. Actually I don’t know what does cosmopolitanism means, uhmm, We can say that as idea of one space, living together, living with other in harmony, cosmopolitanism as the way of thinking doesn’t mean universalism, it just how we can understand with the other, give a space for everyone :D
7. International Economic Principal (Prinsip ekonomi Internasional)
I can’t stand economic, although I came from social study on my Senior High School. I prefer geography, sociology and history than economic. So, yeah, I can say this study make me little bad mood. Yeah, you’re right, this study discussed about supply & Demand, GDP, National Income, Free Trade, Interest rate, exchange rate, anything close with that. Actually I think this study was “nanggung” we seem like changing as economic student on a while. But this study not bad at all, I still can enjoyed it :D
8. Ethnography of Nations (Etnografi Bangsa Bangsa)
I was very exited when I hear that this lesson are delivered in this semester. I Love the study about the nations, their culture and no politic as the main focus. But, I little bit disappointed because this lesson was not as “fun” as I imagined before. Actually The content about this lesson are interesting but I don’t like the way the teacher teach, boring, slow, no surprise, flat, bertele-tele , yeah i can’t say anything again, I’m disappointed, maybe if the teaching method are changed, that’s gonna be great lesson
Well, that’s my review about this semester, and I hope I can pass the last exam smoothly and get a satisfied score, amin ya Allah
